Welcome to the Double Dare UK tabs pages. We are actually a live pub band performing around Horsham, Sussex, but I have published some of my 600 song tabs on this site for sharing amongst the music community. If you want to copy tabs, simply cut and paste the words off the page and straight into WORD or NOTEPAD. I have worked carefully on many of these TABS to make sure that the chords are shown directly over the words, so the chord change corresponds exactly to the place where you are singing. That means you can play the whole songs straight off the paperwork without having to think about the structure of the song at all. I hope you enjoy these CHORDS, and please check out the many more we have on the SONGS page. Check out my band on the rest of the website too if you are interested...

I wasn't sure of how to tab these chords since I don't know how to tab

rhythm strumming although I think I'm getting better at it.

d = down strum

u = up strum

* let notes ring though when picking

* first appreggio part is at double speed

††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

††† d†††† ud††† u††† udu††† u†† u†††††

E---9-----9--x----5----5-----5--x-5---5-(5)-------------------------

B---5-----5--x----9----9--x--9--x-6---5--5----5---5-----5---5-------

G---5----(5)-x----5---(5)-x-(5)---5---5--5h7---(5)-------------5----

D--(5)-----------(5)--------------------------------7-----7---------

A-------------------------------------------------------------------

E-------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you get this part, all you have to do is strum open chords to the

rest of the song.Someone send them to me because I'm too lazy to

figure it out.For the solo (when sole guitarist performs live), I

think you can use a harmonizer and reverb pedal and just pick one string

ultra fast Spanish style although I haven't tried it.Mainly because I

don't have a reverb or harmonizer pedal.:pIf you want a bigger

sound, use those pedals and throw a delay pedal into the mix. That

should get you a nice lush sound.

hello

†† i thought i'd write in and tell people how i play cry as its

different to how was put out a little while ago

†† d††††† d†† u ††††d††† d†††† d††† u††††† u††††† u

|--8------8---8-----7----7-------------------------------|

|-------------5----------------------------------|

|----------5-----5---------------------5---------|

|--5 h 7------------5---------------5-----5------|

|---------------------------5 h 7----------------|

|------------------------------------------------|

|------------------------------------------------|

i know its probably wrong but it sounds good to me and thats how i

learnt to play it. i think its quite hard to go from the twidly bit

back to the strumming bit again because of the wierd way you have to

play it to go from C to Cmaj7 . i also find it easiest to play the

twidly bit by barring the 5th fret on the D,G,B and E strings all at

once, right after the strumming bit.

i've tried it by detuning the G string to a G#, to make the stumming

bit easier to play but it doesn't sound quite right and it makes it

harder to play the other lead guitar bits later on. the same applies

to using the capo on the 5th fret.

oh well there you go.

If you want to recreate this solo live, you only need some slight

distortion and a delay pedal.I play through a Fuzzface and a Boss

Digital Delay and it sounds top.

Use only slight distortion, just enough to thicken your notes but

without making them too fat and still keeping them somewhat crisp.Set

your delay so that the delay is very short (quick) and make sure the

effect carries on for a medium length. You don't want too much of one

note overlapping the next one but you also don't want your notes (the

effect) to die out before you hit the next note.Be sure to play with a

generous amount of reverb on your amp.Basically, you want to be able

to pluck one note and have the note ring over and over again to sound

like you're hitting the same note very quickly but evenly.Plucking

Spanish style without delay is messy and Spanish style with delay is too

much.

Play in normal tuning, no capo.

/ = slide up to note

\ = slide down to note

B-------------------13------12---------------20-

G-----------(9)/14------14----------------------

D-9-9--10---------------------------------------

A-----------------------------------------------

E-----------------------------------------------

There are obviously many different ways to play this solo but this is

what I think sounds the best.I was really struggling to figure out

which strings on a guitar those last few notes would sound best on but

they're so high, you can't help but get a really thin sound since the B

and the high E strings are your only options.

I wasn't patient enough to try and precisely tab out tempo but if you

follow the notes, you shouldn't have any problem.*Someone* send this

to David and ask him to start playing it live. With a Telecaster set in

the middle position, it sounds great.Since there are two guitarists, I

don't see why there would be any problem. This is not to say that I

don't think it's really pretty when Harriet hums the solo, I just think

it'd sound neat if David did it.

Tab for CRY

john made a request for the tab to cry. it was the first Sundays song

I worked out too! (well, the main riff! - I cant remember the other

bits off the top of my head)

††† D†††† UD†† D†††† U††† D†† U†† U

E |-8-----8--8---7-----7----(8)-(8)-(8)--------5--------------

B |-8-----8--8---8-----8----8---10--10-------5----5-------5---

G |-9-----9--9---9-----9----10--10--10---5h7--p--5----5-----5-

A |-----------------------------------------------------------

E |-----------------------------------------------------------

††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† ^^^^^^^^^^^^

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† this bit hereís a little odd -

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† the first 5 on the G string,

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† ††††††hammers on to 7 as a bass note,

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† then play the next two notes

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† (B5 and then e5), then let go

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† of the 7th fretted note on the

†††††††††† ††††††††††††††††††††††††††††G string, and it should return

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† to the 5th fret (as you barre

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† the 5th fret for this whole

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† bit, with your index finger).

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† play the B5 note, and the bass

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† note quickly drops to the D7

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† note.

so the bass line notes (not bass guitar though)go:

G |-5-h-7--p--5--------|

D |-------------7------|

with the extra notes played over the top. all the bass notes should be

left to ring.

thats how I play it. Its quite hard to get back to the strange C shape

(you cant barre the top 2 strings because of the next chord (Cmaj7) so

I use my index and middle fingers for these strings, and my ring

finger for the G9 note, and little finger for the D10 note), but it

just takes a bit of practice.

I don't think those intro tabs were quite right so I'll repost mine.

I'll let you decide which ones you prefer. The good thing about my way

is that you don't have to move your hand as much. You just anchor your

finger on the 5th fret.

Played in normal tuning, no capo.

d = down strum

u = up strum

h = hammeron

x = muted string (not palm mute)

G--5----(5)-x----5---(5)-x-(5)--5--(5)-5h7---(5)-------------5--

D-(5)-----------(5)-----------------------------7-------7-------

A---------------------------------------------------------------

E---------------------------------------------------------------

note: Just barre the D,G,B and high E strings.Don't bother with the

low E and A strings.Make sure to have your index finger touching the A

string in order to mute it and prevent any accidental notes.

I was actually asking for the chords to the verse of "Cry" so if

anyone's got them (played with no capo) would you please send them to

me?Thanks in advance.I'm really bad with transcribing songs and I've

been playing "Cry" with these really funky chords (during the verse).

Er, that's funky-bad, not funky-good.

Since I'm here, I'll post the tabs to the solo as well. For the

"correct" tone, just be creative as it's terribly boring without any

effects.I use a Fuzzface with delay.

/ = slide up to note

note:obviously these tabs are just my interpretation of mandolin notes

on guitar but I think these notes sound the best on these strings.I

used a '52 Telecaster played through the middle pickup selector

setting. Also, I didn't really tab out the tempo since it would make

the tabs needlessly long.If you play to the song, you shouldn't have

any trouble with that though.

the ones i play are quite simple, (with no capo):

Verse:Em, Am, Fmaj7, Dm†† repeat

Bridge: G (open), Fmaj7, G (open), Fmaj7.

Chorus: C, Cmaj7, Cmaj7*, Fmaj7

Solo:†† G (open), Fmaj7, Am, Fmaj7, G (open) Fmaj7, Em, Fmaj7

†† then back into the bridge, then chorus again.

by which:††† EADGBe

†† G (open): X55430

†† Fmaj7†† : X33210

†† Cmaj7†† : X32000

†† Cmaj7*: X32200

††††

i also play Em7 in the verse sometimes, for a change.

and the chorus chords are more simply C and Fmaj7, but you can use

the other 2 to emulate a bit of the actual electric riff.
